There’s something fab about arriving at Notley Tythe Barn before a wedding starts that I always love. Everything feels quiet, like the day is just about to gently unfold.
I’m Vanessa from Crimson Sky Photography. I’ve been shooting weddings for over 15 years now, more than 500 in total, and I still approach each one the same way — in a documentary style, quietly observing and not interrupting the flow of the day. I step in gently when needed and make sure you get all the shots you want.
When couples book me for their wedding Notley Tythe Barn, they usually say the same thing: “we just want it to feel relaxed.” And honestly, that suits me to a tee.

Why Notley Tythe Barn Is Perfect for Relaxed Wedding Photography
Notley Tythe Barn has this really calm, vibe that just helps people be themselves. A wedding Notley Tythe Barn never feels too formal or forced — it has space to breathe.
Because of that, my job becomes really simple in the best way. I can just follow the day as it naturally happens and focus on real and candid moments.
Every wedding at beautiful Notley Tythe Barn I photograph feels unhurried, even when the day is full.

My approach is very much about stepping back. I don’t interrupt moments, and I don’t turn the day into a photoshoot.
Instead, I gently guide when needed and then disappear again.
That works especially well for a wedding Notley Tythe Barn because the venue already has such a natural and relaxed vibe. People relax quickly here, and the real emotions come out without any effort.
Wedding Photography at Notley Tythe Barn Through the Seasons
One of the things I’ve always loved about Notley Tythe Barn is that it never really looks or feels the same twice. It shifts with the seasons in a way that just sort of quietly changes the whole mood of a wedding without anyone needing to do much at all.
Spring there feels like everything is just waking up again. The air’s a bit lighter, the grounds start to soften and weddings tend to feel easy and unforced — like everyone’s just happy to be there as things start to bloom again.
Summer has that long, lazy kind of feel. You get those evenings that just keep going, people drifting in and out of the barn without really thinking about it, drinks outside, laughter carrying on a bit longer than expected. It all feels very unhurrie and relaxed.
Autumn is probably when it feels most “itself,” if that makes sense. The colours deepen, the light turns warm and low, and the barn feels really grounded and cosy. There’s a softness to everything that suits it so well.
And winter is the quiet one. Darker outside, candles everywhere inside, everyone a bit closer together. It’s simple and intimate in the nicest way — no fuss, just warmth and atmosphere doing all the work.
