Photography at Rackleys
Photography is one of the costs you’ll probably be comparing when looking at your overall Rackleys barn wedding cost.
My packages are based mainly on how many hours you would like me there.
Some couples want a shorter package covering the ceremony, drinks reception, group photographs and some time with just the two of them. Others want me from bridal preparations through to the first dance.
I can accommodate either.
Personally, I love photographing the preparations because so much happens before the ceremony. There are usually plenty of laughs, a few nerves and often a few tears too.
What I’m like as a photographer
I’m a female documentary-style wedding photographer, and I like things to feel as relaxed and chilled as possible.
I’m not going to spend your wedding arranging everyone into poses.
I’ll photograph the important parts of the day, of course, but I’ll also be watching what is happening around me. I will be quietly documenting your big day. I will step in and offer gentle guidance when needed. Particularly for the family shoots, confetti shots and couple shots.
Those are the photographs I really enjoy taking.
You don’t need to be good in front of the camera
I hear this all the time:
“We’re both terrible at having our photographs taken.”
Honestly, the vast majority of people say that.
You don’t need to know how to pose. When we take photographs of just the two of you, I’ll give you some simple direction and keep it as relax and chilled as possible.
I’m not going to make you stand there doing awkward poses for ages. I love to capture the true spirit of yur big day.
Usually, after a few minutes, you forget I’m even taking photographs.
Why I adore working at Rackleys
I’ve photographed a number of weddings at Rackleys and know the venue very well.
I love the barn, but I also love the surrounding area. The Chiltern Hills give us absolutely lush spots to get some fantastic shots.
Because I’ve worked there before, I know where works great for photographs and how the light changes during the day.
At the same time, I don’t want every Rackleys wedding to look identical.
The season, weather, timings and people all make a massive difference. Your day is unique to you.
My editing style

Mine is quite simple.
I like natural, true colours and timeless editing. I don’t use heavy filters or faddy presets.
I want your dress to look like your dress, your flowers to look like the flowers you chose and the colours at Rackleys to look natural.

How many hours of photography do you need?

You don’t necessarily need photography from morning until midnight.
Think about the parts of your day you really want photographed.
If getting-ready photographs aren’t important to you, you could start later.
If the evening dancing is something you really want photographs of, then it might be worth a photographer staying a tad later.

I do recommend making time for some family photographs.
They don’t have to take ages.
We can organise the important groups, get them done and then get everyone back to enjoying the wedding.
You might not think they’re the most exciting photographs on the day, but they can become very special as the years go by.
