Honestly, nearly every couple says this to me.

And honestly… most people are absolutely fine after about ten minutes.

I don’t over-direct weddings or make couples do loads of awkward posing. I’ll help where needed, of course, especially during portraits, but I keep everything very natural and low-pressure.

Most of the time, I’m just quietly blending into the background and letting things happen.

Usually by the drinks reception, people stop paying attention to the camera completely.

That’s when the lovely stuff happens naturally.

Weddings Never Go Perfectly — And That’s Fine

After more than 500 weddings, I can safely say something always happens.

Weather changes suddenly. Timings run late. Someone forgets buttonholes. Somebody cries far more than they expected to. It’s just part of weddings.

Being a wedding photographer Beaconsfield for so many years has taught me to stay calm through all of it. I think couples really need that energy around them on the day.

You don’t need somebody adding pressure or constantly staging moments.

You just need someone paying attention.

I’ve never wanted weddings to look overly polished or stiff.

I want them to feel like the day actually felt.

The emotional bits and the loud bits. Quiet little moments in between everything else. Your friends hugging you too tightly after the ceremony. Your grandparents sitting together watching everything unfold. The absolute chaos once everyone hits the dance floor.

That’s the side of weddings I love photographing most.
