Rackleys Chiltern Hills Photos – Wedding Photography at Rackleys

If you’re getting married at Rackleys, you’ll already know what a beautiful setting it is. I’m Vanessa, the photographer behind Crimson Sky Photography, and I’ve been photographing weddings for over 15 years, with more than 500 weddings photographed along the way.

I’ve photographed many weddings at Rackleys and it’s one of those venues I’m always happy to come back to. There’s so much character inside the barn, while the Chiltern Hills and countryside around it give you plenty of lovely places for photographs too.

When couples look through Rackleys Chiltern Hills photos, I think it’s important that they can see how the venue really looks, rather than a heavily edited version of it.

Wedding photography at Rackleys

My approach is very natural and relaxed. I’m not the sort of photographer who wants to take you away from your guests for hours.

Instead, I like to let the day happen and photograph what is actually going on. The laughter, the nerves, the hugs, the little looks between people and all those moments that you probably won’t even realise I’ve photographed.

That’s what I love about Rackleys Chiltern Hills photos after a wedding. The photographs bring back the atmosphere of the day, not just what everyone looked like.

There will still be some gentle direction when you need it. I’ll help with your couple photographs and family groups, but I don’t want you feeling as though you have spent your whole wedding posing for a camera.

Natural documentary-style photography

I’d describe my style as natural documentary wedding photography.

You don’t need to know how to pose, and you certainly don’t need to be good at having your photograph taken. Most couples aren’t!

A little direction can be given when it’s needed, then I’ll step back and let you enjoy yourselves.

Quite often, the best photographs happen when people have forgotten I’m there.

That might be your dad seeing you for the first time, your bridesmaids laughing during the morning preparations, or your friends completely letting go on the dance floor.

Those are the photographs I want you to have, and they are often the moments that make Rackleys Chiltern Hills photos feel personal rather than staged.

Making the most of Rackleys and the Chiltern Hills

One of the things I really like about Rackleys is that you have the barn and the countryside around it.

When the weather is good, I’ll usually suggest taking a little walk outside with your new husband or wife. It doesn’t have to be a big production. Ten minutes can be enough to get some beautiful photographs of you both without disappearing from your wedding for ages.

The light and surroundings will be different depending on the time of year, so your Rackleys Chiltern Hills photos won’t necessarily look like every other wedding photographed at the venue.

That’s part of the fun.

True colours and timeless editing

Natural colour is really important to me.

I don’t use faddy presets or heavy filters that can make everything look the same. Instead, the photographs are edited carefully so that your wedding still looks like your wedding.

Your dress should look white. Your flowers should look like the colours you chose. The Chiltern countryside should still look like the Chiltern countryside!

I want your Rackleys Chiltern Hills photos to look good now, but just as importantly, I want them to still look good years from now.

Over 15 years of wedding photography

After more than 15 years and over 500 weddings, I’ve learnt that no two weddings ever go exactly to plan.

Timings change. Speeches take longer than expected. The weather does something completely different from the forecast. Someone is always running late!

It’s all part of the day.

There’s no need to panic if things change. I’ll simply work around what is happening and keep looking for the photographs.

That experience is particularly useful when you’re getting married at a venue like Rackleys, because I already have a good feel for the space and how a wedding tends to flow there.

It also means I know where some lovely Rackleys Chiltern Hills photos can be taken without turning your wedding day into a photoshoot.

Rackleys Chiltern Hills photos that feel like your wedding

I don’t want every couple’s photographs to look the same.

Your wedding will have its own people, its own atmosphere and its own little moments. The photographs should reflect that.

Some will be beautiful portraits of the two of you. Others might be completely unplanned and slightly chaotic!

Years from now, I hope your Rackleys Chiltern Hills photos will make you remember not just how everything looked, but how the day actually felt.

Autumn and winter weddings at Rackleys

Rackleys works beautifully for autumn and winter weddings too.

There’s something lovely about coming back into the warm barn after being outside in the cooler air, and the surrounding countryside can look completely different as the seasons change.

If you’re considering an autumn or winter wedding, I’m currently offering:

20% off autumn/winter weddings of 5 hours or more.

I’m also offering:

15% off Monday–Friday weddings of 5 hours or more.

So, if you have a weekday or an autumn/winter date in mind, it’s definitely worth asking me for a quote.

What you can expect from me

I’ll keep things relaxed, friendly and as straightforward as possible.

You’ll get natural photographs, true colours and a timeless edit, without spending your whole wedding day posing.

There will be photographs of the big moments, but I’ll also be looking out for everything happening around them.

That’s where many of my favourite Rackleys Chiltern Hills photos come from.

I’m there to photograph your wedding, but I’m also there to make the process feel easy.

If you’re looking for Rackleys Chiltern Hills photos, have a look through my Rackleys wedding gallery to see some real weddings I’ve photographed at the venue.

Hopefully, you’ll get a feel for how I work and, more importantly, how the photographs look when the day is allowed to unfold naturally.

The gallery also gives you a chance to see how I photograph different parts of the venue, from the barn itself to the surrounding Chiltern countryside.

I’ve photographed enough weddings at Rackleys to know that there are plenty of opportunities for natural Rackleys Chiltern Hills photos throughout the day, without keeping you away from your guests for too long.

If you’re getting married at Rackleys and would like to have a chat about your plans, just get in touch.

I’d love to hear all about your wedding.
